Sam Williams Mayor's Cadet 2017

Sam was born and has lived in Bridgwater all his life.

He started his education at St Mary’s Church of England Primary School before progressing to Haygrove School where he is currently studying for his GCSE’s.

Sam joined the Bridgwater Sea Cadets Junior Section at age 10 before becoming a Cadet at 12.

Over the previous few years he has embraced the opportunities and activities the Sea Cadet organisation offers, progressing up through the ranks and spending many additional hours on courses.

During his time in Cadets, Sam has developed an aptitude and ability for kayaking / canoeing, and recently represented the South West Sea Cadet Area in a National Sea Cadet Kayaking Competition, narrowly missing out being placed

He has marched in Trafalgar Day and Veteran Day Parades across the South West and has also marched in every Bridgwater Remembrance Parade since joining the Sea Cadet.

Cadets has been Sam’s main hobby, though over the past few years he has join a local Kick Boxing club, as well as continuing to develop and build on his kayaking skills by joining Exmoor Canoe Club.

 
Aiesha Dabennet Mayor's Cadet 2016

Aiesha was Born in Torquay, Devon and moved to Bridgwater with her parents when she was 8 months old.

When she was 3 years old, she lived in Naples Florida for 9 months.

She now lives in Puriton where she started her education at the Primary school. At aged 8 she moved to Woolavington, where she proceeded to continue her primary education.
She is currently studying for her GCSE’s at Chilton Trinity School.

Aiesha has been involved in Bridgwater Air Cadets for just over a year. In this time she has completed Ten Tors, and used the occasion to raise money for Cancer Research.

She has helped push Veterans in wheelchairs on Armed forces Day in Weston super mare.

She has marched in the Remembrance parade in Bridgwater, and marched in Arnhem, Holland.

Aiesha has many hobbies including, Swimming, Ballet, which she has done since she was 5 years old, and now also volunteers with the younger classes. An active member of Puriton Players drama club, and enjoys all aspects of putting a show together.

You will often find her at local events, helping the organisers and supporting from behind the scenes, or right at the front of it all.

Aiesha is notable for her happy outlook on life and willingness to help others.

The appointment of Mayors Cadet in 2016 is a fantastic opportunity and a huge privilege, Aiesha is looking forward to fulfilling the Mayors Cadets duties with eager anticipation.
